Happy Chinese New Year!
Are you having a good time visiting friends and family?
If you have run out of family and friends to visit , here’s a list of 10 things you can consider doing this festive holiday!
1. Pamper your hair with a colour and treatment!

You must be thinking: What? Hair salons aren’t open during CNY!
While that may be true for most salons, we’ve managed to find a few that will remain open DURING CNY!
- COVO Japanese Hair Salon opens from 18-22 February and best of all, is running a 20% discount for first time customers AND free hair treatment for first time customers!
- Art Noise Japanese Hair Salon opens from 18-22 February and is running a 20% discount for first-time customers!
- AVENTA Japanese Hair Salon is also open from 18-22 February and is running a 10% discount for first time customers!
Do you know of any more salons that remain open during CNY?
2. Go to the movies

There’s always no lack of films during the CNY period, with lots of themed movies timed for release to meet the festive season. Some of the movies suitable for the whole family this CNY include:
- King of Mahjong (local movie!) - A family comedy set in modern times, illustrating how friendship among kampong kakis and love between family members underscore all ambitions and desire for power. Expect boisterous characters, loads of witty, well-timed, jokes and lots of lively repartee.
- From Vegas to Macau II (Chow Yun Fat!) – the sequel to last year’s From Vegas to Macau, this Hong Kong-Chinese film, this action comedy will surely keep you entertained!
- 12 Golden Ducks (Sandra Ng!) – a light-hearted comedy that will surely tickle your funny bone this CNY!
3. Treat yourself to a nice meal or cafe hop

Pamper yourself this holiday and explore Singapore and its endless supply of F&B outlets! Be sure to check out the restaurant or cafe’s website or Facebook page to make sure they’re open during CNY to avoid disappointments. Here’s a list of restaurants open this CNY to get you started!
Here’s our suggestion: been to AEIOU Cafe yet? This lovely little cafe is right up our alley, with its quaint interior design and value-for-money dishes. We hear they’re open the weekend of CNY (21 and 22 February)!
4. Visit River Hongbao

Date: 17 to 28 February 2015
Venue: Floating Platform @ Marina Bay
5. Head down to Night Safari and the Zoo for a day/evening of animal fun

Other than having prosperity mascots to usher in the Lunar New Year, the night safari has even organized LED-lit Southern lions to light up the sky and even elephants enjoying the festive goodies!
Definitely gives this year’s Lunar New Year celebration a slightly different twist!
6. Plan for your next holiday trip

You can even plan a salon trip in the midst of a Japan / Taiwan / Korea holiday to see how their hair services differ from Singapore!
7. Write reviews on Beauty Undercover

8. Take Family Photo

For Emergency Only: List of Doctors during CNY!
We don’t wish this on anyone, and hope everyone stays healthy this holiday! However, if you should need a doctor this CNY, here’s a list of clinics that might be open during the CNY holidays.
Be sure to give the clinic a call before going down to ensure that they’re open.
Remember to watch your health and not over-snack on those yummy CNY goodies!
Finally…
